Add a Physics Minor to Your Math Major!

Apply the abstract mathematics you learn in the Math Major to the world around you. Learn to explore mathematical approaches to physical problems in the basic areas of physics: in classical mechanics, in the physics of solids, fluids, and thermodynamics, in the physics of harmonics, waves, and optics, in electromagnetism, and in modern physics.

By giving such practical expression to the abstract theory learned in mathematics courses, you will appreciate mathematics more, and you will integrate and strengthen the connection between theoretical and practical aspects of knowledge generally.

Exposure to this type of thinking has great value in problem solving generally. It trains the mind to be more creative and, at the same time, more systematic in solving problems in any area.
